Assistant Minister for Health, Dr Alfred Madigele says the ministry has carried out 69 donor funded projects from 2011-2015 and that some were still ongoing.

Answering a question in Parliament, Dr Madigele said out of the 69 projects, President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) had funded 33, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) funded ten projects, while six were funded by World Health Organisation (WHO).

He added that the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP) and UNICEF funded three each, UNAIDS funded two, PRRR one while the European Development Clinical Partnership (EDCTP) and EU and Millennium Development Goals, (EU MDGs) also funded one each.

Further, he said Addenbrookes Abroad funded two, World bank five and UPENN two. Okavango MP, Mr Bagalatia Arone had asked the minister to state the number of donor funded projects carried out by the health ministry in the past five years. ENDS
