Botswana to host international events

The Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Thapelo Olopeng has confirmed that Botswana is scheduled to host a number of Pan African and international sport events as from next year to 2018. Mr Olopeng said the country would host World Youth under 21 Netball Games in July 2017. 

He said the games would bring together 20 countries around the world.  The country, he said would also host Africa Cup Qualifiers in July 2016 in preparation for the major international under 17 World Youth Games, while in same breath, the country would host the 7th International Working Group World Conference on Women and Sport as from May 17-20, 2018.

Meanwhile, the minister said, the country would further host the African Sport Council Region 5 under 20 Games in December 2018. The MP for Tati West, Mr Biggie Butale had asked the minister to state all Pan African and international sport events Botswana intends to host and likely dates of hosting. ENDS
