Parliament has been told that the proposed project to construct the Mmathubudukwane Police Station and 55 houses was among projects approved for implementation during National Development Plan (NDP) 10.

However, the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele on behalf of Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, said the project had been resubmitted for consideration in NDP 11 with other projects.

He said the housing component of the Mmathubudukwane project was to also accommodate officers serving at Sikwane Police Station. Mr Makgalemele also noted that the deferment of the project had “greatly affected” the housing situation at Sikwane Police Station.

Mochudi East MP, Mr Isaac Davids had wanted to know when “the long allocated plot” for new Police Station at Mmathubudukwane would be developed and when police officers  at Sikwane would be provided with suitable accommodation. ENDS
