Logistics delay mini bus delivery

09 Aug 2015

Serowe West MP, Mr Tshekedi Khama, will this month deliver the mini bus he promised his constituents.

Speaking during kgotla meetings in Marulamantsi and Makolojwane, Mr Khama said the mini bus would be delivered to the adult populace before end of August.  Although he admitted to the delay in delivering the mini bus, Mr Khama said he had no one to entrust the vehicle with and had since identified the right man to take charge.

Mr Khama, who is also the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, said he had fears that some untrustworthy individuals would use the vehicle for their personal errands leaving the rightful owners to suffer.

The mini bus would be used to ferry the adults to hospitals and rehabilitation centres. Mr Khama said the vehicle would also assist Tshidilo Rehabilitation Centre, which ceased its operations without explanation to those involved.

One woman with disabilities, who is also a former employee of Tshidilo, solicited some assistance from Minister Khama on the route to take since she could not afford to pay her bills as a result of the closure.

Minister Khama informed residents that one woman had approached him with the view to resuscitate the ailing project and they were still discussing the way forward.

The area MP also informed his electorates that he had held fruitful talks with Minister of Health, Ms Dorcas Makgato, pertaining to the clinic they requested for at Marulamantsi.

He promised to bring health officials to the same kgotla to discuss the feasibility of the project with them. Ends
