165 beneficiaries get training

A total of 165 beneficiaries have been offered training, which included business management in the Nata/Gweta constituency.

Answering a question in Parliament, Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi said 38 of this number went for technical training and had been assisted to start up projects under the alternative packages.

Mr Masisi said the Nata/Gweta constituency had 573 registered destitute persons, 89 of whom were temporary destitute persons.

He said 26 of the 89 had been enrolled in the poverty eradication programme.

Nata/Gweta MP, Mr Rayner Makosha had asked the minister to state the number of people trained in the poverty eradication workshops organised for Nata/Gweta constituency and the number of beneficiaries and types of projects they had been assisted with to start up their projects through alternative packages.

Mr Makosha had also wanted the minister to state the percentage of those who had been assisted against the total number of registered destitute in the constituency. ENDS
