No speed humps for Mokubilo
06 Aug 2015
The Minister of Transport and Communication, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo says his ministry is not aware of speeding of drivers through Mokubilo.
Mr Mabeo said the road passing through Mokubilo was classified as secondary, hence it was not recommended for speed humps, adding that the ministry does not recommend the installation of speed humps on secondary roads and major roads.
He said the speed limit for the part of the road was 60 km/h, and that speed limit signs were installed to sensitise motorists on the appropriate speed that would not put the public in danger, adding that the ministry would consider installation of rumble strips to augment speed limit signs.
Boteti MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had wanted to know if the minister was aware of the danger posed by speeding drivers that pass through Mokubilo in Boteti East, and if so, when speed humps would be made to curb the problem, and what plans were in place to address the situation. Ends
