Serowe based, Green lovers Football Club and Miscellaneous Soccer Club have been assured full support from Serowe Administration Authority (SAA).

Speaking during the dinner session on Friday which was meant to congratulate and boost the morale of the two teams, SAA chairperson Mpho Kooreme promised full support saying that as leadership they are proud of the teams’ achievement.

Kooreme said the two teams have instilled a sense of pride and has arguably united the sub district.

Through their elite league promotion, he said they have created an ideal environment for economic diversification and employment creation in SAA through sports tourism.

He explained that the premier games in Serowe will increase demand for accommodation in local lodges, hotels and bed and breakfast facilities hence employment in that sector will be secure. 

He also noted that public transport operators will also benefit as they would have to carry football lovers to and from the games.

Kooreme said SAA will do everything within its power and capacity to facilitate and create conducive environment for football in Serowe and the sub region.

Green lovers representative,  Onthusitse Kootswele who said they are aware of the challenges of lack of both human and capital resources, appealed to the business community to anchor their aspirations by partnering with teams in terms of technical sponsorships, brand awareness campaigns, fundraising and accommodation.

“Our dream is to grow our brand and become the beacons of Central District in the sporting fraternity,” he stated  Miscellaneous representative,  Bakadzi Seoganeng encouraged the community to attend games in large numbers, especially the local derby.

For his part, Kgosi Serogola Seretse told the players that they should know that they are role models so they should display good behaviour. 

He pleaded with them to shun alcohol and drugs. Ends
