Botswana Brigade Sports Association (BOBSA) seeks to court sponsors and attract media coverage in a bid to take their sports activities to another level, BOBSA vice secretary general Bogha Maposa has revealed.

The decision was taken during an evaluation meeting held recently following a successful hosting of BOBSA finals, over the weekend, that comprised various sporting codes like football, netball, and chess inter alia.

“We also need to attract sponsorship and ensure we establish relationships with other sports associations to ensure continuity of sports for our athletes,” Maposa said. .

Quizzed about the improvements they implemented as compared to the previous games, Maposa revealed that his association had invited some professionals to advise. He said the level of professionalism during the games was top notch.

Though conceding to some glitches prior and during games hosted at Serowe Sports Complex and Serowe College of Education, Maposa declared the games a success. 

All the teams expected pitched up and equally competed in the finals.

“We have also resolved that we need to standardise the rules and apply them consistently through all levels of our competition,” Maposa disclosed. In the various sporting codes, Madiba men and Senyawe ladies were crowned volleyball champions. 

In netball Barolong were crowned champions while Madiba men and Nswazwi ladies were victorious in football. 

Madiba ladies became overall conquerors in chess, a feat emulated by Lobatse men. Ends
