Sankoyo recruit new players

05 Aug 2015

Sankoyo Bush Bucks have signed six new players to beef up their squad as they prepare to start the new premier league season.

Three of the players are on loan from Orapa United while others are from first and second division teams. The recruitment comes after Sankoyo lost key players such as striker Omaatla Kebatho, who joined a South African team, and two defenders, Refilwe Senyane and Modiredi Matengu.

The defenders are now in Township Rollers’ books.

The team’s assistant coach, Tiiso Gadimang, said in an interview that a lot has to be done to build a new team as they lost about seven key players who always played in the first eleven.

“We could not find quality players who could replace the outbound ones.

Our aim was to recruit players who could compete but not to add numbers.  But I am happy that we managed to get a striker, defender and a midfielder from Orapa United on loan,” he said.

Gadimang said they had to finalise their contracts soon as they want the players to play their first game in the new season against Extension Gunners on Saturday August 8, 2015 at Maun Sports Complex.

The team manager, Odirile Sibanda, believed that new players would add value to the Ngurungu Boys. He said that they will finalise registration of their two foreign players, Morris Ruzivo and Melton Sibanda, this week. The duo has been with the team since last season.

The team has also secured a technical sponsorship, which would be launched on Friday August 7, 2015 at Okavango Guest House. Ends
