The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture is working on resuscitating the behaviour change programme which has been dormant for quite a while, says Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu.

Answering a question in Parliament on behalf of the Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Batshu said their plan was to work with other stakeholders, particularly youth serving non-governmental organisations to deal with the social ills bedeviling the youth population like drugs and alcohol abuse as well as sexual and reproductive health related issues.

He said the programme was intended to inculcate positive behaviour change and spearhead character building interventions, and that the revamped programme would be launched soon.

Gaborone North MP, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked the minster to state programmes in place to address drug abuse amongst young people. ENDS
