Government plans better future for youth

The government is committed to build a better and fulfulling future for the youth through education, says Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraela Goya.
“Our education sector cannot afford to falter if we are to secure the much desired future for our country and its young people,” he said.
Officially opening the Ideas, Products, Services and Partners (IPS&P) conference in Gaborone this week, Mr Goya said the conference marks the beginning of a long journey of constructive engagement between his ministry, young people and other stakeholders.
The assistant minister noted that almost half of the countrys’s population was under 23 years old, adding that it was on this account that the country had every reason to pin its hopes and aspirations for a brighter future on its youth.
Mr Goya said the ministry would not look back on its quest to use education and training as a tool to restore human dignity, adding that education could also address social inequalities and poverty.
The assistant minister said the theme of the conference: Business unusual-re-thinking education presented a golden opportunity to reflect on the past achievements and challenges while generating fresh ideas to carry the education system forward.
“This expo is here to fully harness the energies and brilliant minds of our young people,which if untapped run the risk of going to waste,” he said.
The three-day conference is expected to assist the Ministry of Education and Skills Development to look for new creative and innovative ideas that could be implemented to improve the education sector. Ends
