Serowe hosts BOBSA national championships

Botswana Brigade Sports Association (BOBSA) will this weekend host its ball sports national finals in Serowe.

The games venues are Serowe Sports Complex, Serowe Brigade, and Serowe College of Education. The competition will commence on Friday (July 31) and end on Saturday (August 1).

Tefo Keaja, the association’s secretary general, explained that teams and athletes that get first positions in respective codes during the competition will proceed to compete at the national finals. 

The zones under BOPSA are South Central, South South, North South, and North North zones. 

Keaja indicated that the national finals are categorised into seven codes, which are football, netball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and chess.

He said the netball, volleyball and badminton competitions will be held at Serowe College of Education, table tennis and chess will be played at Serowe Brigade, while football will be staged at the Serowe Sports Complex.

Keaja extended an invitation to teams playing in various national leagues to come and scout for players, explaining that BOBSA competitions serve as a platform for nurturing and exposing young players. Ends
