Finances delay hospital refurbishment

The refurbishment of the Selebi Phikwe Hospital was planned for in National Development Plan (NDP) 10. However, the Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele said the ministry was not able to construct the facility during NDP 10 due to budget constraints.
Dr Madigele said he was aware of the current infrastructural challenges experienced by the hospital, and that the ministry would continue to explore avenues on how best to assist the hospital as the cause for the delay in constructing the hospital was due to financial constraints.
The MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister when the hospital would be refurbished or built given that it was in NDP 10, and what had caused the delay in building the facility. Ends
