Botswana Red Cross Society, Kanye branch in conjunction with 12 Development Studies students of Seepapitso Senior Secondary School have embarked on a mission to renovate a house for a needy resident.
In an interview recently, Ms Baboloki Tebatso, Botswana Red Cross programme officer in Kanye, said they had identified an underprivileged and mentally disturbed man who burnt his house sometimes last year.
She said the organisation had a tradition to impart skills and that was why they were working together with students to build the house for the man.
Ms Tebatso pleaded to companies and all other stakeholders to help them with donations in order to complete the project.
Ms Amogelang Sekaba, one of the students engaged in the project, said they saw it vital to be part of the project.
She said they were also inspired by the president’s call to help the poor.
She said they had raised P650 and appealed to parents to assist them. ENDS
