Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele has told Parliament that the volume of activities and engagements of the President, Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, and leaders of political parties varies from month to month as well as their coverage on Botswana television (Btv).

The assistant minister said for the period of 17 June 2015 to 27 July 2015, the President appeared three times, whereas ministers collectively appeared seven times.

Mr Makgalemele further noted that MPs appeared eight times, and that the leader of opposition appeared three times, whereas leaders of political parties appeared twice.

The assistant minister stressed that to broaden coverage, they have increased Btv news coverage to one hour effective 1 June 2015.

The MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the number of times on average in a week that the President, ministers, MPs, Leader of Opposition and of political parties were featured on BTV news bulletins. BOPA
