Police record decrease in road accidents

A total of 180 accidents were reported as compared to 207 recorded during the President’s Holidays last year.
A press release from Botswana Police Services says there was also a decrease in the number of people who died in such road accidents as compared to the previous year.
It states that four people died in separate accidents that occurred throughout the country as compared to six who died last year.
The number of people who were charged for drunken driving also decreased from 152 last year to 149 this year.
Meanwhile, speeding had the highest number of offenders followed by those who were driving without licenses. ENDS
