Parliament has been informed that the University of Botswana (UB) does not have a system that can generate completion rates hence the Ministry of Education and Skills Development does not have information on university completion rates.

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole said UB was in the process of implementing a new system that would be capable of generating information on completion rates among others.

With regards to reasons for non-completion of university courses, Mr Masimolole said UB had constituted a task force to undertake investigations into the reasons for non-completion of university courses.

Gaborone West North MP, Mr Robert Masitara had wanted to know what information the ministry had collected regarding university completion rates and the reasons for non-completion of university courses. ENDS
