Youth should establish unique businesses
15 Jul 2015
The chairperson of the Jwaneng Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Mr Boniface Motsamai has advised young entrepreneurs to set up unique and sustainable businesses.
Speaking during the Youth Development Fund (YDF) orientation in Jwaneng recently, he said it is important that government investment in empowerment initiatives benefits the youth in the long run.
He explained that this can only be achieved if the youth are committed to establishing inimitable businesses.
He also encouraged the youth to have the spirit of perseverance and patience as running a business comes with challenges, adding that an enterprise can run for months or years without making profit. Mr Motsamai advised them to be receptive to criticism as it can improve a business for the better.
He encouraged the youth to affiliate with organisations such as JCC and network with other businesses. He also advised them to take up government initiatives so as to reduce dependency on government to create employment.
The orientation was held with the aim of familiarising youth with government initiatives that include the Government Volunteer Scheme, Poverty Eradication, LIMID and the YDF. Ends
