Motlhagodi eyes win

The national Under 20 women’s team coach, Sepheko Motlhagodi, says he is expecting a positive result against South Africa on Sunday (July 12).
Botswana will clash with South Africa in the first leg of the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg
Though their preparations had been frustrated by a clash with Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) activities, Motlhagodi said they were aiming for a win.
He said their plans to hold a two-week training camp failed to materialise because the players were still engaged in BISA matches for their schools.
“We are hoping to have a good game despite the fact that we have just assembled the team. We are hoping for good results in South Africa,” he said in a press conference in Gaborone on July 8.
Motlhagodi said the players pitched for camp late. According to him this inconvenienced their plans.“We were forced to prepare the girls in a short time of a week and half,” he said.
However, the coach said the team played a match practice on Sunday. Motlhagodi said the match practice afforded the technical team a chance to assess the squad and correct their weaknesses.
However, he said the time was not long enough with the girls to prepare as well as he wished.
