Residents embrace proposed approach
08 Jul 2015
Residents of Boseja have welcomed an idea to elect a task force which will help in supervision and monitoring of developmental projects in the area.
Residents welcomed the idea during a kgotla meeting after the area councillor Mr Vepaune Moreti expressed disappointment about the bad state of roads in their area.
He proposed an idea to have a task force which would support him to promote governance and ensure projects were delivered as planned and expected.
He said with the taskforce he will be able to speed up some of the projects earmarked for the area.
Last year, the civic leader said, some residents were told that they had to give way for the road that would be constructed in the area.
The residents whose were going to be affected by the development, he said, were still awaiting full explanation from the local council
Boseja residents promised to cooperate and work together with the area councillor in order to develop the area. Inspector Jeremiah Sabatha of Maun Police who also attended the meeting said crime is worrisome in Boseja ward noting that on average they record two cases a day.
He appreciated efforts made by some residents to report suspicious incident but explained that at times they fail to attend on time because of shortage of resources such as transport. Ends
