DPS urges youth to work hard

Young people have been encouraged to work hard and avaoid requesting for waivers uncessarily because government is doing all it can to assist them.
Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture (MYSC) deputy permanent secretary, Mr Kgopotso Ramoroka, said this during the Youth Pitso in Francistown recently. He explained that all the resolutions taken at the gathering would be fine-tuned and sent to cabinet.
In addition, he said each district office was going to get a copy of the resolutions that would be availed to them.
Mr Ramoroka assured them that the issues raised were going to be addressed accordingly. He stated that MYSC needed such a forum in order to address challenges and issues affecting the youth.
Mr Thebe Ratshosa, representing the youth in mining sector discussion explained that the sector had a lot of opportunities that the youth could venture into. He requested government to make regulations and policies that would benefit them when signing contracts with investors.
He urged government to also decentralise and localise information in their respective areas. He appealed to government to offer them training and workshops to capacitate them.
In the tourism sector discussions, Mr Mooketsi Tekere raised concerns on delays on land allocations and requested government to reserve land especially for young people as the area has more opportunities.
He said human capital was a big challenge to young people because it caused more businesses to collapses. Ends
