Education ministry staff rekindles spirit of giving

Acting Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraela Goya, says he is delighted with Batswana’s spirit of rekindling and resuscitating the spirit of philanthropy.
Officially handing over a house donated by his ministry staff to a needy person, Ms Veronica Cooper, in Tsabong recently, Mr Goya said it was gratifying to note that Batswana were taking keen interest in uplifting and promoting the welfare of fellow countrymen.
He said government had made strides in tackling poverty and youth unemployment through various initiatives. Despite all achievements, the battle to eradicate abject poverty remains a challenge.
He congratulated staff for their leading role in mobilising companies, different government departments and individuals in contributing towards the successful completion of the project.
He advised beneficiaries to take care of the house and furniture. For her part Ms Cooper said she was very grateful to the officers for providing her with shelter.
Mr Xu Hai whose company worked with ministry staff to build the house said he was very happy that the recipient will be safe from chilly weather. Ends
