Prisons hosts seventh interclub tourney

Prisons Boxing Club will on Saturday, June 20 host the seventh Interclub Boxing Tournament of the year at the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Village Camp.
Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) public relations officer Kenny Maragana said they are expecting about 30 bouts to be fought at the tournament which will be used as preparation for the Africa Championships as well as the National Championships.
He emphasised that preparation will be adequately conducted to allow boxers to approach both the national and continental challenges adequately prepared.
He said firebrands amongst them Zone IV gold medallist Mmusi Tswiige of Prisons Boxing Club will be on show.
He also said members of the national team which is currently in camp will also fight at the tournament and sharpen their preparations for major challenges ahead of them.
Maragana said he was pleased with the attendance of boxers in the previous tournaments, adding that this tournament has attracted over 30 bouts.
He said he was happy with the performance of our boxers as Botswana is ranked number one in Zone IV.
He added that this shows that Botswana Boxing Association is committed to growing boxing and they will continue to develop it. ENDS
