Rollers sign Harris

Township Rollers have signed Mark Harrison as their new head coach on a one year renewable contract.

The 12 times Premier League champions broke the news on Tuesday (June 16), explaining that the deal was subject to the granting of work and residence permits.

“Township Rollers FC is delighted to announce that Mark Harrison has been appointed as our club’s new head-coach. Having played for the top level leagues in the UK and SA, he has also coached at all levels across the world,” Rollers said on its official website.

The 54-year-old Englishman has previously coached Golden Arrows and Chippa United in the South African ABSA Premier League.

The club said the contract would be performance based pointing that it could be extended by two years if the coach performs well.

His latest coaching spell was with Zimbabwe Premier League giants CAPS United.

He has also coached Mpumalanga Black Aces, African Warriors in a long coaching career which begun at English non-league side Stafford Rangers in 1994.

During his playing career, Harrison was goalkeeper for English professional league clubs Port Vale and Stoke City, as well as Hellenic in South Africa. Ends
