Ngamiland Expo in offing
11 Jun 2015
Organisers of the Ngamiland International Trade and Agriculture Expo are working round the clock to deliver on the event set for July 28 to August 1.
Briefing stakeholders in Maun on June 9, Mr Boyce Sekgoma of Rarchetscapes Investment said they still required sponsors to come on board and their budget projection was estimated at P600 000 for events lined up for the expo.
He said although some companies had pledged their sponsorship, it was not enough, adding that assistance could be in the form of ideas to improve on the series of events, sponsors for exhibit winners or to book stalls for their exhibition.
Rarchetscapes Investment revived the agricultural show last year in Maun after it was defunct for 20 years. He noted that they were hopeful for a better event since the former sponsors, the farmers and the community were supporting the event.
The expo, he observed, showcased the two prime aspects of agriculture and tourism in the region and aimed at promoting Ngamiland District as a tourism and investment place.
Mr Sekgoma said the show also provided a platform for all sectors and the exhibitors from the agricultural, hospitality and tourism, the textile industry, manufacturing, and the construction sectors.
The events lined up prior to the expo are a dinner, Miss Ngamiland beauty pageant and a horse race competition. ENDS
