Ajax of Mokwena ward walked away with P1 000 and a trophy after winning a six-team tournament held in Serowe over the Easter holidays.

However, it was not an easy ride for them because they claimed the title by a whisker after accumulating 10 points from three wins and a nil-all draw against Dot com.

They also suffered a 1-4 loss against the Special Boys, who finished fifth among the six that competed on the day.

On one hand, the team that gave them a tough competition, Real Masilo had also accumulated 10 points also from three wins, a draw against Dot com and a loss against Ajax.

Their nine goals against six of Real Masilo separated the two teams hence Ajax became victors.

Real Masilo, in second position pocketed P800 while Dot com pocketed P600 after finishing third and accumulating eight points.

Nnakgolo finished fourth while Soko were sixth. 

In an interview, the tournament organiser, Badiredi Kegaisamang said the event did not only unearth talent but also supplemented the constituency league efforts to keep the youth away from drug and alcohol abuse. 

Kegaisamang said the tournament was held every year in March, July and September holidays. ENDS
