President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, also Commander-in-Chief, has promoted Botswana Defence Force senior officers.

Brigadier Seleka Phatshwane and Brigadier Molefi Seikano have been promoted to major generals. Phatshwane was appointed Commander, Air Arm Command while Seikano became Commander, Ground Forces Command.

Four officers were promoted from the ranks of Colonel to Brigadier. Colonel Mukani Mokobi was appointed Deputy Air Arm Commander and Colonel Mbakiso Mukokomani is Chief of Staff, Ground Forces Commander. Colonel Sianang Sianang is Ministry of Defence Justice and Security Liaison Officer and Colonel Kagiso Kgaswanyane is Deputy Chief of Staff J1 (Personnel).

Nine officers were promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel and 12 were elevated from Major to Lieutenant Colonel.
