Serufho joins youth games commission

The  Botswana National Olympic Committee secretary general, Tuelo Serufho, has been appointed to the coordination commission of the Association of the National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) for the third African Youth Games billed for Algeria. 

A press release said the president of ANOCA, Lassana Palenfo, appointed Serufho to the commission that will oversee preparations for the games scheduled for 2018.

The press release stated that Serufho had gained a wealth of experience in organising single and multi-sport games at national and international levels, citing that he served as director of the 2007 African Junior Tennis Championships. 

The release further says that he was general manager of the 2009 Botswana Games and chef de mission of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games as well as chief executive officer of the 2nd African Youth Games held in Gaborone in 2014, among other portfolios. 

“We are delighted by the confidence that ANOCA has shown on Serufho. His invaluable experience as the chief executive of BAYGOG will be utilised to deliver a successful 3rd African Youth Games,” says BNOC president, Negroes Kgosietsile in the press communique. 

Furthermore, the press release says Serufho possesses academic qualifications in sport management, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport & Recreation Management and an Executive Masters in Sport Organisation Management. He is the secretary general and CEO of the Botswana National Olympic Committee, a position he has held since February 2010.

 The prolific Serufho was recently made the representative of the Confederations of Southern African National Olympic Committees (COSANOC) in the Regional Organising Committee of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5. He is also a trustee of the Africa Regional 6 Anti-Doping Organisation.

Meanwhile, Kgosietsile has been appointed to the 204 member Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Finance and Audit Commission. ENDS
