UCCSA renovation project noble move

Member of Parliament (MP) for Kanye North has urged residents to donate to the UCCSA church renovation project.
Mr Patrick Ralotsia, who is also Minister of Agriculture, made the call during the church’s fund raising dinner in Kanye on June 1.
He said the church, which was built by Bangwaketse regiments during the late Kgosi Bathoen II of Bangwaketse’s reign, had a rich history that should be conserved for generations to come thus applauded members for the initiative.
Mr Ralotsia urged Ba-ga-Ngwaketse to donate any resource they had including time, skills, money or livestock to the project “for the glory of God.”
Another speaker, Rev Dr Cheryo Dibeela also commended the congregants for the noble cause.
She impressed said the project benefits would trickle down to members of the church in South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe where they had branches. Dr Dibeela cited a case in the Bible, Exodus 35 where God had called Moses to mobilise the Israelites to build a sanctuary for him.
She said the Israelites donated more than what was required, at their own free will. Likewise she applauded the congregants for donating whatever they could to the cause without being coerced, adding it was important to donate to God willingly.
She explained that allowing members to contribute whatever they could would accommodate every member regardless of their social standing.
Dr Dibeela advised Batswana not to adopt a Western kind of lifestyle where every thing seemed to revolve around money. She said God has bestowed a special gift on every person to be used to His glory.
One of the residents, Mr Major Mabayani who donated floor tiles worth P29 000 to the project, said it was important to always give a tenth of one’s earnings to God.
He said biblically there was a curse that came with not giving unto God what was due to Him. BOKHUTLO
