Sankoyo fate lies with BFA executive committee

02 Jun 2015

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) national executive committee (NEC) will convene an urgent meeting this week to look into the Sankoyo Bush Bucks matter.

A press release from BFA president, Tebogo Sebego, stated that the executive committee would review the reports it received from the premier league and bring finality to the apparent confusion that surrounded this matter.

"In the meantime, all decisions by the premier league committee, in respect of the matter, shall remain inoperative pending the decision by the national executive committee," stated the release.

And, BFA urged interested parties to desist from making statements or communications pertaining to the matter since the NEC would deal with the matter.

The Botswana Premier League (BPL) management resolved to refer the Sankoyo matter to the BFA national executive committee for intervention and direction.

This decision was based on the fact that BPL is a semi-autonomous structure of the BFA and is responsible for managing and running the premier league.

The BFA national executive committee overseas all structures of the association and only intervenes when there is a challenge or a substantive need to do so in the interest of football. ENDS
