Khama appoints Newman ambassador

President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama has appointed Mr David Newman as Botswana’s ambassador to the United States.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that Mr Newman was expected to take up his appointment in Washington D.C in June.
Mr Newman holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B. Hons) from the London university. He started his career as a barrister-at-law in Middle Temple, in London, before serving as a senior lecturer in law at the universities of Malawi and Botswana.
Mr Newman also held a variety of key positions including as managing partner in a law firm, Collins Newman & Co. In 2005, he was appointed High Court judge. ENDS
