Pako Seribe takes on world's best tonight
26 May 2015
Botswana's runner, Pako Seribe, will compete at the IAAF World Challenge 54th Ostrava Golden Spike in Czech Republic today (May 26) at 5:50p.m.
The 200 metre race will see an exciting line up of international athletes including Seribe, Usain Bolt of Jamaica, Jan Jirka of Czech Republic, Femi Ogunode of Qatar, Carvin Nkanata of Kenya, James Ellington (Great Britain), Isiah Young of United States and Stefanos Lykourgos Tsakonas of Greece
Bolt was quoted by the IAAF website saying he was in “much better shape” than he was for his early season races.
He said he would focus primarily on 200m this season, something he believed could boost his performances over 100m. He planned to use as many races as possible to get in shape for this year’s World Championships.
“I set the bar in Beijing,” said Bolt, referring to his world record trifecta at the 2008 Olympics. “I want to go there and surpass that feat.”
Efforts to contact Seribe for comment proved futile by the time of publishing this story.
