Fitness centre opens in Maun

01 Apr 2013

Maun residents who are keen on fitness and have been wondering where else to get it can now stop worrying because a new, fully equipped state-of-the-art fitness centre is now open at the Old Mall.

Speaking in an interview, the owner and director of Pheora Investment Snap Fitness Centre, Mr Lesole Phuthegang said it was important to open a new and second fitness centre in the village because Maun has a large population.

Given the increase of lifestyle diseases, some of which cause death, people need to exercise from time to time, said Mr Phuthegang.

The centre, which started operating mid-last year, provides services such as body building exercises, group training and offers free tips on how to balance diet.

Mr Phutegang explained that physical exercises and training help to reduce weight and prevent diseases such as heart attacks and diabetes; and also ensured a healthy life as well as keeping a person busy.

He said that his centre was established to service Maun and the surrounding communities, adding that he was concerned about the welfare of the people, hence he started the fitness centre.

A former soldier, Mr Phuthegang said that he is a professional physical instructor who has attended courses on physical fitness in South Africa and locally.

He further explained that since he opened, customers were coming in to utilise the services in droves. He however complained about lack of space and high rental charges that he said affect his business. ENDS
