Marina resumes SA referrals
06 May 2015
Princess Marina Hospital has resumed routine patient referrals to all hospitals in South Africa.
The service was suspended two weeks ago because of the xenophobia attacks in South Africa.
A press release from Princess Marina Hospital stated that the hospital reviewed the situation in consultation with Botswana Embassy in Pretoria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Consequently, the hospital was satisfied that the attacks had since abated. It stated that all patients who were supposed to receive medical attention in South Africa would be rebooked with immediate effect.
Furthermore, the release said traveling to South Africa was expected to resume on Monday after confirmation of bookings with Healthshare Intergrated Services, while Princess Marina Hospital referral office would call all affected patients. ENDS
