Madigele's thank donors
28 Mar 2013
Parents of 19-year-old Batho Madigele of Kanye, who was diagnosed with a kidney disease, have appreciated contributions made by government, NGOs and members of the public towards their son’s kidney operation.
In an interview, Batho’s mother, Mrs Nametso Madigele said, without help of the members of public, they would never have succeeded in raising the required funds for their child’s kidney operations to be done in South Africa soon.
She stated that the donations also motivated Batho who recently passed his Form Five with flying colours. She said Batho has applied to the University of Botswana to study Medicine, particularly because he obtained A*s in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Bs in Geography, Statistics, Economics.
Batho was in 2011 diagnosed with chronic renal failure: a type of kidney disease and her mother said since then, he had been on an automated peritoneal dialysis machine. She said Batho's sister, Kgalalelo has pledged her kidney and the operation will be done once doctors complete their tests for recommendation. ENDS
