Good leadership is a vital principle, which makes a person to stand out from others, says the new Kanye Taxi Association general secretary, Mr Thabo Mudongo.

Addressing the association’s newly elected committee on Tuesday (April 28), Mr Mudongo stated that leaders played a critical role in directing any association to change for the better.

He noted that the association's role was to help create a good working relationship between the organisation and other stakeholders as well as ensuring a safe transport system for customers.

He urged all stakeholders to work hand in hand with the elected committee and stressed that communication was an essential tool to help better manage the association. The General Secretary added that honesty was the most valuable asset that every leader must have because it also brought dignity to every credible leader.

“We therefore require every member to comply with the rules and regulations of the association and our membership is open to all taxi operators in Kanye who possess valid a driver’s license class B, as well as a local transport permit.”

He stressed that the association adhered to the principle of Botho which was an essential virtue in formulating good relationships.

“Let us offer services with a smile, love, and respect to all our customers,” he said.

The chairperson of the association, Mr Thabo Modisaemang introduced the committees which comprise three teams which are; executive, disciplinary and sub-committee. The committees, he said be tasked with ensuring there was discipline at the bus rank and that all the vehicles were road worthy and that all the drivers looked presentable at all times.

The sub-committee will also ensure that customer satisfaction is met and report anything which is against the principles of the association. Ends
