Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi stroke twice against Motlakase Power Dynamos to ensure that tittle chasing Mochudi Centre Chiefs inched closer to clinching the be Mobile title in a game that ended 2-0 in Serowe.

In the April 24 encounter, marauding Chiefs weaved closely knitted passes immediately after kickoff, which resulted in green boot prospect Lemponye ‘FC’ Tshireletso whipping a telling cross into the box.

Tshireletso’s precisely weighted cross found oncoming Mara in the right place and tapped home with relative ease in the opening minute of the game.  However, the game endured a prolonged goal drought until in the dying minutes of the second half where Mara headed home from a Galagwe Moyana curling corner. 

Though Magosi were without their influential and veteran skipper Pontsho Moloi, the Kgatleng giants showed their Achilles tendon against a fairly experienced Motlakase Power Dynamos lead by veteran midfielder Jomo Bolofete. 

Former Notwane player, Bolofete has established himself as a kingpin at Motlakase rearguard and foiled various ambushes from the witty yet belligerent Magosi. Magosi’s midfield maestro, Lesego Galenamotlhale, acted the conductor in the midfield where he operated alongside Zimbabwean international Tendai Nyumasi and Moyana. 

Moyana was deployed in a role usually masterminded by Zimbabwean Ocean Mpofu whose combo with Galenamotlhale symbolises a hard nut to crack. Despite lying in a precarious position Chouka, as Motlakase are affectionately called in their home base of Palapye, played like a side in comfort. 

They tried stringing passes together but found a rock-solid Magosi defence marshaled by Keabetswe Jenamiso and Kaelo Chifiwa Kgaswane. Kgaswane was roped in to deputise the absent Wilbroad Mutale who had won the hearts of Magosi legions of followers.

Consequently, the Palapye outfit resorted to firing from outside the box, albeit wide at most.

On Saturday, still under the Serowe Sports Complex floodlights, BR Highlanders crawled slightly away from the dreaded relegation axe by hammering Francistown and First Division North bound ECCO City Greens 2-0.

 Though the Mahalapye based Highlanders collected the invaluable maximum points, they are still within the red zone.

The arrival of Emmanuel Thakadu is bearing fruits at the train boys’ camp as he has managed to score a couple of goals that saw Highlanders ascend the beMOBILE log albeit at a snail slow pace. He curled a beauty into the far post leaving Chamuronwa Madamombe mesmerised. ENDS
