TonotaFrancistown road completion on October

The reconstruction of Tonota/Francistown road started on October 2012 and was scheduled to be completed in 36 months.
Responding to a question in Parliament, Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology , Mr Nonofo Molefhi said the contract completion date had been revised to October 2015 due to inclement weather conditions.
Minister Molefhi, who was answering on behalf of Minister of Transport and Communications said the project was on target at 70.5 per cent progress against 70.4 per cent target.
Regarding the construction of Thapama interchange which is phase 2 of the Tonota-Francistown road , Minister Molefhi said it commenced on February 3 and it was scheduled to be completed in 18 months.
He said the completion date was expected beginning of August 2016 while progress on the interchange stand at 0.3 per cent against the programmed 0.4 per cent.He said it is expected that the overall project will be completed on time and the Ministry will continue to monitor the progress.
Francistown South Legislator Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to update Parliament on the progress made in the construction of Tonota-Francistown road and whether it will be completed on time. ENDS
