Shelter construction not govt mandate

It is not the mandate of government to construct shelters for business operators, Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Vincent Seretse has told Parliament.
He said securing of land and its development thereof lied with the business operator. Therefore, he said, it was upon this basis that Chibuku traders like any other business operator were equally affected by land acquisition procedures.
He was responding to a question from Gaborone North MP, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa, who had asked when shelters for Chibuku traders will be constructed in Gaborone as per the promise that was made by the former minister of trade. ENDS
