Debswana BCL align to government policy

BCL Limited and Debswana Diamond Company have procurement policies, which are aligned to government’s policy on Citizen Economic Empowerment as their policies provide for reservation of procurement of some goods and services and preferential treatment of local and citizen companies.
This was said by the Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila, when responding to a question from Boteti East MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe.
Mr Lelatisitswe had wanted to know how Debswana and BCL mines procurement policies aligned to the Minister of Finance
and Development Planning’s policy on Citizen Economic Empowerment- specifically the drive towards sub-contracting of government funded projects being exclusively reserved for 100 per cent citizen owned companies.
