No funds for major maintenance at Phillip Moshotle
08 Apr 2015
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, says Phillip Moshotle teacher’s flats at Block 8 in Gaborone are not “a disaster in waiting” although it is true that the teachers’ flats at the school require maintenance.
However, she stated that due to budgetary constraints and other competing priorities, there were no funds for major maintenance at Phillip Moshotle Primary School.
Instead the ministry through Gaborone City Council would undertake minor maintenance works using in house crews, handyman initiative and Ipelegeng programme, she said.
Gaborone North MP, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked her if she was aware that teachers’ flats in Phillip Moshotle at Block 8 in Gaborone “are a disaster in waiting.” He wanted to know what is being done to make the flats habitable. ENDS
