Man sustains stab wounds

08 Apr 2015

A 29-year-old-man is recovering at the Seventh Day Hospital following stab wounds he sustained while whiling the night away at the Ark Night Club on April 3 in Kanye.

Kanye police station commander, Superintendent Kealositse Konyana said a 25-year-old man suspect was assisting police with investigations. In another incident, a 35-year-old man of Moreane lands near Lotlhakane East was in police custody in connection with a stolen donkey belonging to a 75-year-old-man also of Moreane.

According to Superintendent Konyana, the suspect allegedly sold the said donkey to another farmer. He said, however,  other than the two incidents, the Easter holidays in his policing area were quiet.

Meanwhile, Assistant Superintendent Ernest Sesinyi of Sejelo police attributed the tranquil that prevailed in his policing area to the sensitisation campaign they conducted prior to the Easter holidays.

“We used public address system to sensitise residents especially those living in hot sports for crime to be aware of thieves and take care of their valuables,” he said. To beef-up security, he stated that officers were deployed on patrol to heighten visibility; an exercise he said assisted a great deal by reducing loitering and subsequent commission of crime.  ENDS
