The Permanent Secretary to the President has appointed Mr David Mosetse to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Intelligence) with effect from April 1, 2015.

According to the release from Botswana Police Service the Commissioner of Police, having consulted and taken into account views of the Promotions Advisory Board and in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 8 (1) (b) (i) of the Police Act CAP 21:01 promoted Mr Cornelius Lesola to the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The release further states that The Commissioner also promoted Messrs Seabe Maboka, Mbakiso Tlhalefang and Mogorosi Dibotelo to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The Commissioner further redeployed the trio as follows:
1. Mr Maboka to Francistown as Deputy Divisional Commander North
2. Mr Tlhalefang to Police Headquaters as Head of Communications
3. Mr Dibotelo to Francistown as Deputy Director, Transport and Telecommunications Branch, North

The Commissioner has also promoted seven superintendents to the rank of Senior Superintendent, 19 Assistant Superintendents to the rank of Superintendent, 38 Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent, 59 Sub Inspectors to become Inspectors, 83 Sergeants earned the stripes of Sub Inspector and 120 Constables were elevated to the rank of Sergeant.
