29 Mar 2015

Letlhakane Senior Secondary School is experiencing bedding challenges as not all mattresses are in good condition, says the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraele Goya.

Responding to a question in Parliament on March 26, Mr Goya said plans were afoot to replace 760 old mattresses in the next financial year at this school where 315 boys and 468 girls are boarding.

He said two companies namely Rainville and Cylot were on site to carry out electrical works at both girls and boys hostels and staff houses. The date of completion of these works is May 2015 and all mechanical works which cover sewerage system (ablution block), hot water provision and incinerator refurbishment are at tender stage, he said.

The MP for Boteti East, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the assistant minister to brief the House on the current situation at Letlhakane Senior Secondary hostels with emphasis on bedding conditions and availability, electrical connection, incinerator, ablution blocks, sewerage system, availability of hot water and to state if all the hostels that are occupied are in a conducive state.
