LEA takes media on projects tour

Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) recently took media on a tour to showcase some of their clients in Ghanzi District.
LEA communications manager, Mr Wanetsha Mosinyi, said the tour was meant to showcase clients that LEA had assisted and afforded them an opportunity to give testimony to other Batswana.
Mr Mosinyi explained that it was worthwhile for clients to give others feedback on how they were assisted on issues of training, mentoring and business plans in order for their businesses to thrive.
Mr Mosinyi also said the tour was meant to showcase Batswana that LEA had opened its expertise to all sectors of the economy, noting that for the past three years LEA was more focused in the agriculture sector such as leather industry, dairy, horticulture and cattle farming.
But, it has now opened its doors to other sectors like manufacturing, services and tourism. According to Mr Mosinyi, since the intervention of LEA especially to sectors outside agriculture there has been promising results with other businesses flourishing.
He explained that LEA had divided entrepreneurs into SMME and micro businesses; where they target SMMEs and offer their interventions so as to help them diversify and in the end create employment for other Batswana. LEA provided interventions such as market analysis and mentoring among others.
Meanwhile in Ghanzi, Mr Mosinyi noted that most of their projects were mainly in the agricultural sector, noting however that projects which were outside the agriculture scope, were doing well despite issues of market.
He said with efforts of interventions he believed they could prosper as well. ENDS
