Mmadinare is among villages earmarked for connection to the Selebi Phikwe to Serule Water Transfer Scheme, the Minister of Minerals Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila, has said.

Responding to a question in Parliament from MP for Mmadinare, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila, Minister Mokaila said the water demand in Mmadinare had grown significantly over the years and the supply was  constrained by the existing infrastructure.

The designs for the Serule water Cluster project, he said, were complete and the project was awaiting funding. “We anticipate that construction will commence immediately when we obtain funding,” he added.

MP Mzwinila wanted to know if Mr Mokaila was aware that as a result of the water requirements of Mmadinare Senior Seconadry School, there were frequent water supply shortages in Mmadinare village and what was being done to address the situation.
