Companies paint dormitories

Chobe Safari Lodge supported by Spar Supermarket, Builder’s World and Lean Foundation recently held a family fun day where they painted the dormitories for the children living with disabilities.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Duncan Britton, the operations manager at Chobe Fish Eagle said the lodge adopted Kachikau Primary School special unit about two and a half years ago.
He said they offered support, love and care to the children and they realised that children living with disabilities were pushed aside in the society. Mr Britton said when they started interacting with the children, they were distant, having a sense of doubt in them but they reassured them until they were comfortable around them.
He said their fun day was a sign of their commitment to the unit and they painted, installed satellites in their dormitories, donated food parcels, blankets, fresh linen, and clothes. Mr Britton said the unit was growing as it has 32 children this year compared to 28 last year.
He noted that this was not their first fun day as they took the children for a boat cruise in November last year, donated kitchen utensils worth P20 000 and hosted a Christmas party for the children in December. ENDS
