Letlhakane did not operate without boarding master

23 Mar 2015

Parliament has been informed that it is not true that the post of boarding master at Letlhakane Senior Secondary School has been vacant for the past three years as it only fell vacant in term three of 2014.

Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraele Goya, said someone was engaged as a temporary boarding master to carry out this function until the post was filled. Mr Goya said to this end, a new boarding master reported for duty on March 16 this year.

He stated that the ministry had allocated all boarding schools with vehicles including Letlhakane Senior Secondary School. The assistant minister said according to their records, three vehicles at the school being a bus, truck and van were boarded and the school had since been allocated a Ford Ranger Double Cab to replace the van.

He stated that for optimum utilisation of resources, all schools in the Boteti area shared a bus and truck located at the sub region and regional headquarters respectively.

MP for Boteti East, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the minister if he was aware that Letlhakane Senior Secondary School had no boarding master for the past three years. He also asked him if he was aware that there was no transport as all the school official vehicles had been boarded and what would be done to rectify the situation. ENDS
