The minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale says his ministry regularly monitors compliance to conducting of Corruption Risk Assessments (CRA) by government departments.
Corruption Risk Assessment is a systematic process of identifying, analysing, evaluating, mitigating and monitoring of corruption risks. Answering a question in Parliament , Mr Molale said various ministries have conducted CRA in 2013 and 2014 as part of their overall corruption risk management strategy.
He said 15 ministries and independent departments conducted 19 CRAs in 2013, while 12 ministries and independent departments conducted 12 CRAs last year.
“The process would result in ministries being able to develop and implement corruption risk management plans to mitigate recurrence of corruption. Ministries and independent departments have Anti- Corruption Prevention Committees to ensure coordinated and consistent efforts of corruption prevention,” Mr Molale said.
Mr Molale was responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Gabane – Mmankgodi, Major Gen Pius Mokgware who had asked the minister if various ministries have conducted risk assessments to identify corruption exposure and what steps have been taken to prevent corruption. ENDS
