South Africa's coach, Vera Pauw says the Saturday (March 21) game against Botswana is like a final to them.
Briefing members of the media today (March 20), Pauw said they would take the game serious and previous results against Botswana will not matter in the game.
She said Banyana Banyana would not take anything for granted and will do everything they can to come up with positive results.
The former Scotland, Netherlands, and Russia women’s coach said they had analysed Botswana intensively, therefore they would come a good game plan that she think will suit them, adding their line-up is fully fit, and they are ready for the encounter
Botswana coach, Gaolethoo Nkutlwisang said they had found a replacement for the suspended Phatshimo Bosa. She said they had prepared well, for Banyana, and the fact that their opponents participated in a tournament in Cyprus as part of their preparation, will not deter them to put a brave fight.
“In our preparation, we played against local teams, and one of the constituency tournament team, Villa 12 gave us a good game, therefore we are ready, again a lot is at stake tomorrow, Pauw was my trainer in 2009, therore it is important for me implement what she taught me”
The team’s captain, Bonang ‘Bebeto’ Otlhagile said players were ready and moral in camp was high. She said they were going to fight and no respect will be given to their opponents, because as much as they were an experienced side, Botswana had players who could also cause havoc on the day.
The game will be played at Molepolole, kick off is 4 pms and admission is free. ENDS
